PEER-TO-PEER APP

BRAND TONE
In startup land, sometimes projects that fold are forever memorable. mezu was an app ahead of its time, and I can’t help but still love it after it’s gone. A Venmo competitor, mezu went by “the undersharing payment app.” You know when you’re selling or buying something like a Facebook Marketplace sofa, and it’s all way too personal? mezu is the antithesis to that. A privacy-first payment app that doesn’t put you in uncomfortable situations by forcing you to share personal information, or mine your data — and an app that enabled local businesses to soar (securely). This was all in the works long before other payment apps offered a QR code option. I worked directly with their creative lead and the CEO on the brand tone along with a series of wild postings, bus ads, and murals in Denver, CO.
